Time flies when you are having this much fun!
We have lots to do lately. Richard is working on the yard, it looks great! The garden is growing and so far he is keeping ahead of the weeds. We have a volunteer crop of something out there that looks like Zucchini… oh my… I was hoping for cucumbers. So far the grass is green and not needing too much water. We have threatned to plant garden instead of grass. Plans are pending for the fire pit but smores are on the menu and so we better get it done soon.
Fishing has been great for us, Travis and the girls came over and we caught several trout, one catfish and a wiper at John Martin Dam down by Lamar. We had a great time and tried out recipes on how to cook the fish. Jen made a great tartar sauce and it was delicious with the deep fried catfish and wiper. We can’t wait to go again soon.
Vacation Bible School starts at our Church this week. I am not very involved but help with some of the food, and printing some of the things for the classes. With doing the bulletin each week for services, it keeps me pretty busy.
Richard’s business also keeps us busy. We sell soap. I always wanted to say that. lol. We also sell vitamins, makeup, and have partner stores to shop from.
Logan Little Dog is doing great, we took his flea collar off of him and he recovered quickly from his illness. He was just lying around with no appetite, no energy and had shivers with no temperature. We took him to the vet but we didn’t know what was wrong, still don’t but I think the collar was too strong for him.
I found an engraver on ebay and it arrived the other day. I enjoyed doing the awards and trophies years ago and would like to do it again. Waiting for the letters to show up and some of the plastic to engrave on.
Went to a family get together Sunday in Holly. It was nice to see everyone. I think Richard has the best looking family ever!
Getting Ready for the Cheyenne County Car and Bike Show on June 13. We are having a Youth Division too. Lots of gifts and the goodie bags are great too.
Don’t forget to praise God for all the blessings you receive!

Seems like spring is just around the corner, we have tulips blooming and just planted peas, beans, spinach and lettuce a few days ago. Richard’s garlic is growing well already, he planted it last fall. Richard has a great compost program and it has paid off. The ground looks rich and ready for all those veggies. We are going to try our own version of hanging tomato plants upside down in buckets and see what happens.
The granddaughters just bought two chicks as pets and we added them to the pink, green and blue ones we have. Our laying hen must have lost interest… we lost all of our twelve eggs, Richard opened them and found only about four that were forming and they had died.
Sherry finally got her book “Molly” transferred to a different computer using a Pocket Media drive and so she doesn’t have to retype the whole thing… maybe she will find time to finish it. This weekend she set up a computer at Richard’s Mom and Dad’s for them. They got a great deal on a display model at Sam’s club.
Sherry has been talking and talking about Susan Boyle. What a great voice!!! Sherry was at the doctor’s office in Greeley and that is who they are talking about too. Scottish women are not known for their beauty, Sherry’s grandmother is from Scotland and they are strong, working women.
Got Logan’s hair cut done. He sat still for most of it, I used the scissors but it makes the hair cut uneven. He looks like a rodent… He is our Maltese from the Mill Dog Rescue in Colorado Springs.
In Greeley we were able to get cream from the Health Food Store, I also got Mung beans and am trying to sprout them.
Great day for Chili, I made a big batch and will take some to the church tomorrow for a pot luck luncheon as Robert Lowery will be a guest speaker. Richard used some and he seasons his very HOT!
I was thinking about making a pan of cornbread but decided on crackers instead. I think we will have tacos for supper.
This last week was really special for Sherry, her birthday was on Resurrection Sunday and she decided to get baptised on the same day. A friend, Amy, was baptised on her birthday in March, so Sherry thought that was a great idea and followed along. Sherry had a doctor’s appointment in Greeley on the 15th and so surgery will be on the 12 of May.
On the 16th of April, Sherry celebrated her 27th year of Sobriety. Although she doesn’t get to attend meetings very often, it is always on her mind. Her wanting to help people led her to apply for and get her Ministers license in Feb. There are sometimes people who need a minister but shy away from a church leader.
So that is what is happening in our world… Keep safe and be happy.

We raise mostly Astrolops, which are black feathered and a dual production bird. We have a couple of mixed breeds which seem to be doing well. Thanks, Sherry

Welcome to the Barn Door Publishing blog! Richard and I are excited to meet people with the same interests as us. We garden, raise chickens and bees, have a internet business, and enjoy fellowship with lots of people.
We just adopted a Maltese dog named Logan from the National Mill Dog rescue. I’ll add their site because we think they are very caring people and great in what they are accomplishing. http://www.milldogrescue.org.
We ask that you keep posts clean and use appropriate language. Thanks!
