Hasty Lake here we come! We are planning a weekend of fishing, fellowship and food at Lake Hasty, it is next to John Martin Res. by Lamar, CO. It is going to be lots of fun and lots of sunshine.
Last time we were there some folks next to us caught a catfish over 9 pounds. Unfortunately, those fish are not too pretty to look at but great to fry.
I am making potato salad and roast pork for sandwiches. It is also pot luck so I am sure we will have plenty to eat. One of the guys is going to make a run to Rocky Ford to pick up fresh corn and maybe a watermelon or two.
Anyone need some Zucchini….just kidding.
When I come back from fishing, our local County Fair will be beginning on Tuesday July 28. We are having Monster Trucks, a Tractor Pull, and something new called Cheyenne County Wild West Bunkhouse Cowboy Competition. Just the name alone sounds like fun. Hope to see lots of new faces at our Fair. The Fair Board and County Commissioners work very hard to put this on and make it safe and fun for everyone. We have 5 entries for the Turtle race.
Better run, the potatoes are needing cooled down, the onions chopped and pickles chopped.
