Can you believe this is the end of Sept. already?
Seems like yesterday we were canning pickles and getting ready for FISH night. I like to worry about things weeks ahead of time, it makes the days go by faster. lol. So much for the pickles, we used a recipe of the late Dr. Keefe’s and they are gone already. My granddaughters love them!
I was thinking today of Kelly, my grandson in Missouri. Praying for him to be safe and happy. The girls call him Kelly Boy and talk about his visit here often.
My sister Janice’s birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday to a very special Texas lady!
We are getting ready to install a wood buring stove so Richard is going up on the roof again to measure how much liner we need for inside this brick chimney. On second thought, He is probably not going up for a little while, I just looked outside and the wind is blowing pretty hard.
Spread blessings today and good cheer!

End of the Month already
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009Got ‘er done
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009Spent most of last evening getting the newsletter done for Freedom Warriors. Whew, sometimes it is difficult to know what to say. Richard had a toasty fire going in the outdoor fireplace and it was nice. Beautiful evening, just a little cool. We picked some of the garden huckleberries and put in the freezer, when I get enough I want to make some jelly using them. There are a few small tomatoes left, but it has not frozen yet so we might get more. The hens are having a great time eating bugs and seeds. Too bad they won’t seek and eat the stickers growing in the garden. Our second planting of beets is doing well.
I need to get organized and see why my engraver plate won’t take the letters I have purchased. It is almost like the base is bent or something. Will try to get to that this afternoon.
A few nights ago, we had the honor of having two friends come over and visit us. I am being encouraged to make him a leather shirt like the one I made for Richard a while back. I think I have enough leather to do it and it would be an honor to get it done and given to him. Great project for this winter when the snow is blowing cold outside.
Richard purchased a wood buring stove, so our front room is under construction. I think that we should have put in the new wood floor first, for looks, but he wanted to put in the stove, for heat and geting our utilities down. We have a wonderful brick chimney through the middle of our house so getting it going will not be a chore. (I hope).
Have a great day!

Saturday
Sunday, September 27th, 2009What an exciting day yesterday was! We attended the Flatlanders event in Goodland, KS about 60 miles from us. I got to do some much needed shopping at Walmart. I stocked up the pantry and got crackers, sugar, flour and other things.
At the Bike show we got to see about 150 motorcycles. Beautiful machines… all colors, all sizes and all ages. There was a 1949 Harley Davidson and it was a beaut! The event people were also showing a safety film to show you how to ride safely. On the South end of Main St, there were numerous cars of all ages, colors and abilities. By abilities I mean, some could be squashed next to the payment by reinventing the suspension, some were like a model T only with the ability to race, and some just drivable. I have a soft spot for 1968 Chevy Chevelle Super Sports. If I ever find one in silver with white top and white interior, I might have to buy it. Lots of chrome on these vehicles. Shine that you could see your face in. Richard rode his Gold Wing and had a great time! He didn’t show his bike cause it is a working bike, seen lots of miles.
After we got home and unloaded my treasures from the van, we sat out on the patio and watched the evening slowly envelope us. We had the fire going and the smell of buring wood is wonderful, even soothing. Two friends stopped by and we got to hear the most amazing testimony. Calvin Standing Bear shared his testimony and shared places he had been blessed to visit as he is a well know musician. He is traveling the world sharing his gift and is part of the Red Tail Hawks.
It is time to leave for Church, please count your blessings and pray for your friends as well as your enemies!

Tomorrow is the Flatlanders Bike Show in Goodland, KS
Friday, September 25th, 2009We are traveling again, this time to Goodland, KS to the Flatlanders event. The people who went last year said it was alot of fun to see the Bikes and Cars and be in the other events. Guess they parked Jeeps on another vehicle and suggest you don’t park your car on Main street. lol. We are meeting friends at the Conoco in Burlington for breakfast buffet and then go down the old highway to Goodland, KS.
I plan on working on my church bulletin before noon, so I better get busy. It seems like I get a lot of prayer time in when waiting for the copier to spit out the copies.
Had supper with a good looking guy last night and his two daughters. My son is about the best looking guy in town and my granddaughters are the most beautiful.
This morning Richard and I prayed for the group of Muslims who are supposed to be marching on Washington DC today. Perhaps the plan is to lead them to the Lord. I pray often for the young lady whose father has stated he will kill her for converting to Christianity. She is in Florida and I pray that the Lord keeps her safe and out of harms way. Perhaps the Lord will use her to help her family see that killing is not the way of the Lord. I wonder what her mother feels to see this happening to her daughter?
May God Bless you as you travel through your day!

Had a great Freedom Warriors meeting!
Friday, September 18th, 2009Hi there,
Last night a group of motorcycle ministry riders met for their monthly meeting. There are great things going on for them. We give financial help to people to help with medical expenses. We are a small group but mighty!
A couple of our riders are in Cuchara at a rally for the Arapahoe Community Church. I have heard the leaves of the Aspen trees are starting to change and it will be a beautiful ride.
Sunday we are having a group at our house for dinner. My son is going to deep fry turkeys! oh yumm!
One of our friends was married in August and we are going to have an informal reception for them at the same time. I just love to hear testimonies like theirs! Sounds like love at first sight!
Saturday we are hosting a new group of young people at the church for Seedlings. I better get my cupcakes done!
Have a great afternoon!
Friday Sept. 4, 2009
Friday, September 4th, 2009hey there,
Hope your life is going just like you want it.
Getting ready to exhibit some things at Kit Carson Days. Richard and I attended the melodrama last night and it was great! Everyone had wonderful fun. The bad guys got booed and hissed at alot.
I can’t decide which quilt to show if the only category is quilted and pieced. Travis’s quilt was for his birthday in July and he had to wait until it showed in Fair, now he is waiting until it shows this weekend. The Cherry quilt is bright with black and red as the main color and a few blocks of Mary Engelbreicht fabric in it. I still love the quilts with the old patterns and hand quilting.
Our neighbor is holding his annual Beer Olympics this weekend. We cleaned up glass from our garden as some of his guests thought it would be fun to throw it over the wood fence. I pray for the kids who seem to show up and think this is the way to become an adult. oopps got on my soap box again!
Guess I better go, a friend is going with us to get our displays in and we will come home as Richard travels on to work for the night.
May God Bless and Keep you!
